Alternative Financing

CSG has extensive experience providing alternative financing programs for both large and small companies. CSG can often work with companies to find creative solutions to difficult financing problems with programs such as the following:

  • Purchase Order Financing that is often difficult for companies to obtain.
  • Receivables Financing at competitive rates.
  • Lease Program that enables companies, even early stage firms, to generate their own working capital.

  

Marketing and Sales Support Programs

CSG can set up both domestic and international marketing and sales support programs. CSG has both a network of sales representatives, as well as high level contacts that provide entre to large domestic and foreign markets. For example, CSG has set up a network of sales representatives to help both an industrial pollution control company and a geothermal company market their industrial pollution control products in both domestic and international markets. CSG is also helping a number of companies enter markets in the Middle East.

CSG’s Marketing and Sales Programs are administered through Four G Investments, LLC, an affiliate company.

Special Letter of Credit Financing Program

CSG offers a special Letter of Credit financing program that is one of the lowest cost loans available. The current rate for this loan is 1%, substantially below the present US prime rate of 3.25%. In addition, borrowers can make interest-only payments for the life of the loan. Features include:

  • Purpose of Loan. The loan can be used for any legal purpose: municipal development, real estate, commercial development, REITS, hedge funds, refinancing of more expensive loans, or other financing needs.

  • Transaction Amount. The minimum transaction is $20 million; there is no maximum amount other than what available collateral will support.

  • Interest Rate. The interest rate is the 30 day LIBOR rate with a 1% floor. The interest rate for the loan floats with the LIBOR rate. Borrowers can hedge their interest rates to protect against upside rate increases.
  • Collateral. Your company, organization, or government puts up collateral underlying a Letter of Credit issued by a qualified domestic U.S. bank , i.e., with an A rating or higher. If your bank's rating is below A, the LC will need to be confirmed by a qualified bank. An international issuing bank also needs confirmation through a qualified U.S. bank.
  • Debt Service. Borrowers can choose to pay only interest with the full principal due at the end of the loan. As a result, borrowers have more cash flow during the loan term, which provides additional financial leverage.
  • Renewals. A Loan in good standing can typically be renewed if the Letter of Credit is renewed.

  • Fees. All fees are paid at closing.

Lease Program

The last few years have been difficult for companies seeking capital. Debt financing has been very limited and the cost of equity capital has been high. Companies don't often think of selling products through leases as a way to generate working capital, but it is a valuable alternative to equity or debt capital, particularly for early stage companies who have more limited fundraising options.

For companies with products that lend themselves to a lease sale, CSG can set up programs that minimize, or even avoid, outside financing requirements by using your customer's  credit to generate your own working capital. With one of our lease programs, in most cases, CSG can arrange for you to get 50% of the lease amount as soon as the sale is made, the lease approved and the purchase order issued. You can then use this advance payment as working capital to manufacture your product. After your product is delivered and accepted by your customer, you then receive the balance of the lease amount. The leasing company is then responsible to collect the monthly lease payments from your customer.

A leasing program has the additional advantage of opening up your markets. If you have an expensive product, your sales may be limited because your customers do not have available funding, or they want to protect what cash they have because working capital is so difficult to raise. Lease sales will make your products accessible to them. In effect, our program provides them a financing vehicle that covers the entire purchase, which may include maintenance and other ancillary services. Leases have many other advantages as well. Your customers can often make lease payments with the increased revenues or savings that your product provides. Leases protect against inflation and avoid risk of obsolescence when the lessee upgrades equipment during the total life of the lease. In short, a leasing program provides a powerful sales tool.

Unlike lease brokers, CSG works for you. CSG essentially operates as your "in-house" finance company, which adds another dimension to your company's image. Lease brokers work for banks or leasing companies, and typically work on volume. Customers are on their own to complete the lease applications and handle any negotiations and document requests. If they are not approved, brokers go on to the next potential customer. CSG is not tied to any leasing company. Instead, CSG can seek out the best terms from its broad network of financing sources. This also enables CSG to set up programs for early stage companies, or other special situations. CSG increases its lease approval rates by making a special effort to help your customers complete the lease forms, and then working with financing sources to help get applications approved. CSG insures that you get your advance funding and final payment upon product delivery. In short, CSG is committed to making you successful through its lease program.
